The program’s current clinical focus is reversal of factor Xa inhibitor anticoagulation in patients with major bleeding when medically indicated.

Ciraparantag is being developed as an intravenous, ready-to-use treatment intended for urgent clinical settings where timely anticoagulant reversal may be needed.

EVIDENCE, IN CONTEXT

What has been studied.

PRECLINICAL

Reversal in bleeding models

Published animal studies reported that a single intravenous dose of ciraparantag reduced blood loss in anticoagulated external and internal bleeding models. These nonclinical findings do not establish efficacy in patients.

CLINICAL PRIORITY

Pursuing rapid reversal of factor Xa inhibitor anticoagulation in patients with major bleeding.

Pinwheel’s development strategy is directed toward clinically meaningful evidence in patients experiencing major bleeding, supported by appropriate pharmacodynamic and safety assessments.
